The show has been an enormous hit for HBO.

The Last of Us (HBO)
After only two episodes, HBO has renewed The Last of Us for a second season. The show has been a huge success, with the premiere episode attracting 18 million viewers, a fourfold increase over the audience on premiere night. The second episode had 5.7 million viewers, up 22% from the first. The second season will cover the first half of the events of the second game.
Craig Mazin revealed that it would take multiple seasons to cover the events of the second game.
“The amount of story that remains, that we have not covered, would be more than a season of television.”
Showrunner and creator of The Last of Us Neil Druckmann also revealed that there are no plans to adapt beyond the events of the game. ““We won’t run into the same issue as Game of Thrones since Part II doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.”
Who might portray Abby?

Shannon Berry (Amazon)
Fans have already been heavily speculating who could play the ambivalent character from the second game, Abby. Despite the controversial nature of the character and her actions, she is deemed to play a very important role in the narrative of the second season and beyond. Fans seems to have picked their favourite actress to portray the role, actress Shannon Berry, who seems to have physical similarities with the game character portrayed by Laura Bailey.
Neil Druckmann has been spotted following her on Instagram, with Shannon also following Druckmann and the official The Last of Us account. Which means something might be cooking…
We are extremely thrilled about a second season of this brilliant adaptation now officially on the way. We are most curious in what way Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin will expand and alter the events of the second game. On anything The Last of Us HBO, be sure to stick with us.
